Katy's First Birthday pictures & other random bits

Since it has been FOREVER since I blogged I'm not going to go into a ton of detail about life. Things are going REALLY good for us right now. We have been in our home for a little over a month and we are LOVING being in a house that we OWN! Katy & Lizzie BOTH got sick the weekend we moved and it also was Kate's birthday weekend so that wasn't as much fun as we all would've liked. Thankfully she'll never remember it! School let out on the 27th of May and so Jay is now gone to Montana until August. If we get our way though we'll get him back a touch early so we can visit Uncle Bob, Aunt Olivia & Uncle Gino and our super fun cousins! We'll see how all that pans out. Lizzie finished her second session of preschool on May 21st and we decided to take a break for the summer. Since our new house is 2 doors down from the school Jay will be attending we are looking into having her do Pre-K there in the fall. Since she'll be 5 before the school year ends we feel like she could use more focused kindergarten prep. She loves to draw & has been having fun "writing" me notes and has learned how to "spell" mom--mmo! I tell her that it is actually MOM but she forgets the order. Oh, well, she has the letters down so far! Katy finally got some teeth a couple months back & is now the proud owner of FOUR teeth, her bottom two & top two right in the front. She eats anything & everything though & must have gums of steel! She also "talks" quite a bit and just the other day said to me "I want that" when I picked her sippy up to fill it with water. I thought I misheard so I said back "You want that?" showing her the sippy and she said "Yeah!" so cute & fun! She has a teddy bear that she just loves and she sleeps with it for every nap & bedtime. I love seeing how happy it makes her when she picks it up & gives it a big hug. Mark is LOVING having a yard to care for. He has mowed the front twice & will (hopefully!) get to the back soon. He took out a HUGE bush that was growing over the security fence to the pool. When we heard that it would get us a discount to NOT have it we were certain it was coming out! He has also been hard at work doing web designs and I am so proud of what a wonderful provider he is! My only complaint is that I wish he could play with us just a bit more, I remind myself that he is doing all this work for the kids and me & I relax. At least he can do most of his work from home! I LOVE that! I'm still in the throes of my fitness "quest". One day I'll reach my goal and then I'll be happy...just kidding! I LOVE working out & getting fit & remembering how strong I am keeps me positive on the days that I have little to no will power to stop eating junk! I have a couple goals this summer. The big one is to get comfortable enough in my swimming abilities to look into doing a triathlon. I'm not much of a swimmer in my opinion but I want the challenge so I'm working on getting better. I also have to goal of NOT ending the summer as blindingly white as I've been the last 5 summers we've lived here. So far so good, I've been out in the pool every day since Saturday!
Enough about all that, here are the pictures!
