This picture may fool you into thinking that Katy has decided she likes her high chair. If you thought that you're mistaken. She actually HATES it but she was in it for a few minutes the other morning being VERY happy while I got Jay breakfast & ready for school. She is getting so big! I DO have a couple rolled up towels in there with her for support but she doesn't REALLY need them, I just like to keep from MAJORLY slumping over. She has yet to eat more than a few bites of ANYTHING semi-solid so her high chair is mostly decorative but she looked so cute I just had to post this picture for everyone to enjoy!
She is also OFFICIALLY four months old (almost five now, I'm slow with my updates!). She is 16 lbs & 13 oz & TWENTY SEVEN inches! She is my "little" behemoth! She LOVES to be balanced while she stands up & she has (FINALLY) realized that when she is on her belly she can lift her head and see what is going on. (She used to just lay there with her face buried in the bed or blanket, silly girl!) There is some speculation that she is working on getting some teeth but I "think" she is just pre-teething. The pediatrician says this is the age that most babies begin to feel their teeth but that they won't some in for a few more months still. I'm just waiting to see what happens.
She has recently decided that, in addition to waking up for a bottle at 4 a.m., she is ready for the day to begin at 6:15 a.m. I have decided that I REALLY don't like having my sleep interrupted for a bottle run & then been awakened (FOR THE DAY!!!) just over two hours later! Such is life with a baby! We still do a nap or two during the day & she goes down for the night at 7:30 pretty regularly. Now I just get to work on convincing MYSELF to go to bed before 10 p.m. so my night doesn't feel so short!
All in all she is a great baby & a MAJOR joy in our lives. I can honestly say I love being a mommy!

Me
Usually when I look in the mirror a number of things run through my mind; "Ugh", "Eww" or "another zit. REALLY ?!? what am I, 12?".
That was not the case today. As I got out of the shower and began the process of doing my hair & makeup I looked at myself and thought "wow, I have REALLY pretty eyes". Weird!
When I was done "primping" I looked at myself and thought
(at the risk of sounding conceited)
"I look pretty today. Huh."
I was planning on just going about my day. I had a check up with the pediatrician for Katy, laundry to be done & new & old clothes to be sorted.
Instead I decided to document this with a photo. A self-portrait of this...anomaly.
Not the "me being pretty" part. The "me thinking I look pretty" part.
So here it is, ME.

Olivia & Gino's Wedding Weekend
Olivia & Gino were married on Saturday August 29th, 2009 & I was blessed enough to be able to attend. I was totally flattered when Olivia asked me to sing a song during the ceremony as a surprise for Gino. I (of course!) accepted so I don't have any photos from the actual ceremony. I DO have LOTS of photos from the cocktail hour/reception & from other times during the weekend. Here are a few.
Here we are, all but one of the beautiful Koernig girls. From left: Marian Koernig, Rachel Rands, Olivia Castellino, Erika Checketts, Maggie Stoecker
The whole family who was able to attend. Although you can't see her I am holding Katy. She was tired & hungry & being pretty grumpy.
